Your will never run out of oil

Good morning friends!

Let’s spend time together for a moment as I take you through one of the most touching stories in the Bible — the story of the Widow of Zarephath.

God shared a prophetic word with me for a friend, and then after I shared that, the Holy Spirit kept talking to me about this biblical event.

I believe God wants to speak something so precious to our hearts right now, especially as we started our new year journey

Picture this: A terrible famine has gripped the land. No rain. No food. People are desperate. And into this hard place, God sends His prophet Elijah… but not to a king, not to the rich, not even to someone who seems “qualified.”

God sends him to a poor widow in Zarephath — a place far from Israel, among foreigners. Also keep in mind that Elijah was a GENTILE!

When Elijah arrives as God has instructed, he finds her gathering a few sticks. She tells him quietly: “This is my last handful of flour and a little oil. I’m going to make one last meal for me and my son… and then we will die.” 😔

Can you imagine how heavy her heart must have felt?

And yet… God had already spoken to her spirit before Elijah even showed up. He had prepared her heart.

Elijah says these tender, faith-filled words: “Don’t be afraid… Make me a little bread first… For this is what the Lord says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry…’” (1 Kings 17:13–14)

And friends… she believed. She trusted. She obeyed. She gave the very last she had.

And God? Oh, how faithful He was!

From that day on, the flour never ran out. The oil never dried up. God kept them — day after day, miracle after miracle.

I feel God whispering this to us so gently today:

In your own “last handful” moments — whether it’s finances, strength, hope, time, or anything else — He is still the God who multiplies the little you have when you trust Him and put Him first.

He sees you. He knows your need. And He has already gone ahead of you, just like He did for that precious widow.

So let’s hold each other’s hands in faith this January and remember:

Listen for His voice

Obey even when it looks impossible

Act in love and trust

Speak His promises out loud

And rest knowing… He will provide.

Because when God is all you’ve got… you discover He is more than enough.

What has God been speaking to your heart lately?

You are so loved, cherished, and seen by your Heavenly Father every day.

God bless you!
