We need to speak Jesus!
Good afternoon,
Over the past week, a few real things happened to real people around here—things that stirred up emotions, some good and some tough. The challenge we all face on this earth is finding a way to handle both the highs and lows without losing our focus—keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus on the cross, no matter how hard it gets sometimes.
We had power cuts that threw us off balance for a bit. We managed with backup power… until I accidentally blew the generator. Then my wife broke a tooth—the second one in just a month. Two unplanned dental bills in quick succession, and they're not cheap. The microwave gave up about a month ago too. Our daughter was sick for six long weeks before we finally got the right diagnosis—thank God she's healed and doing well now. And to top it off, our water bill came in 30% higher than usual.
I know you probably have your own list too. We all do. Some of us are dealing with no job at all, others are raising kids alone, and some are stretching every rand to make it work. Managing these things can feel overwhelming.
But today I just want to encourage you with this: Speak Jesus over all of it.
Speak His name over every situation, every heart, and every mind.
Over every dark addiction, every stronghold, every shadow that lingers.
Jesus Your name carries power. Jesus Your name brings healing. Jesus Your name is life itself.
In the bible we see that God's word is like a hammer:
Jeremiah 23:29 in the NIV:
“Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?”
It's a powerful verse where God is speaking through the prophet Jeremiah, emphasizing how His true word isn't weak or empty—it's forceful and effective. Like fire that consumes, or a hammer that shatters even the hardest rock, God's word has real power to break through stubborn hearts, strongholds, lies, or any "rock-hard" resistance or challanges in our lives.
God's word will not return void:
Isaiah 55:10-13 “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the LORD’s renown, for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed.”
God's word is like rain—it doesn't fall in vain. It soaks in, brings life, produces fruit. Whatever you're facing, when you speak His word, it accomplishes what He intends. Joy and peace follow. Dry, thorny places turn into something beautiful and lasting.
So maybe this is something you have never done before, But I want to encourage you today. Speak God's word over your circumstances
Example Prayer/Declaration – Speaking Life Over Finances and a Job
“Father God, I come to You today in the name of Jesus. I speak life over my finances right now. I declare that You are my Provider, and I trust You to open doors no one can shut.
I need a job, Lord—a good one that honors You, provides for my family, and uses the gifts You've given me. Your word says in
Matthew 6:33 (NIV): 'But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.'
So today, I choose to seek You first—Your kingdom, Your ways, Your righteousness. I put worry aside and trust that You will add everything I need, including employment and financial breakthrough.
Your word also promises in,
Philippians 4:19 (NIV): 'And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.'
I stand on this promise, Father. You will meet my needs—not out of lack, but out of Your abundant riches in Christ. Supply what I need for today, open the right opportunities, and give me favor in interviews, applications, and every step.
I also claim:
Psalm 90:17 (NIV) over my work: 'May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands!'
Establish the work of my hands, Lord. Let favor rest on me. Turn dead ends into open doors.
And Lord, as we’ve seen in Isaiah 55:11, Your word doesn't return empty—it accomplishes what You desire. So I speak these promises over my situation, knowing they will bear fruit in Your perfect timing.
Thank You for hearing me.
Thank You for provision, peace, and the job that's coming.
In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
God bless you as YOU SPEAK JESUS!
