TRUST GOD'S PROCESS

The day Jesus saved my life was a very special day—one that I have reflected on many times over the years. Not long ago, the Holy Spirit brought that moment back to my remembrance once again.

Salvation is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. It is the fulfilment of the very purpose for which Jesus sent Him. The Holy Spirit convicts the heart, revealing truth in a way that nothing else can. He penetrates both heart and mind, bringing a clear division between light and darkness, just as the Word of God describes (Hebrews 4:12; John 16:8).

For me, it was a definite and unmistakable revelation of the truth that sets us free (John 8:32). It was the realization that Jesus had paid the full price for sin—once and for all (Hebrews 10:10). In that moment, I understood that salvation was not something I could earn, but a gift of grace purchased through His sacrifice on the cross.

Later in life, however, it became difficult to understand why full victory and a meaningful life sometimes seemed so elusive when they had been promised in Christ (John 10:10). It is only now that I realize there is a process to holiness and a process of discipline that produces fruit in our lives. It is through this process that we begin to experience the fullness of life, purpose, and victory that Jesus intended for us (John 15:5; Hebrews 12:11).

This process involves preparation. It draws us nearer to God and teaches us to hear His voice through the Holy Spirit. It creates a pathway of life, light, and purpose (Psalm 119:105).

So, what is this process?

I believe each of us has our own journey. Our struggles are unique, our life circumstances differ greatly, and the calling God has placed upon each of us is personal and distinct. For me, the process involved God allowing me to make mistakes, because He knew that the end result would always draw me closer to Him due to the posture of my heart.

It required submission to Him in everything.

Nothing hidden.

No shame.

Clean hands.

A pure heart.

"Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart" (Psalm 24:3-4).

That surrender is what allowed me to grow in Him.

Tonight, I came to understand more clearly how God draws His people. Our all-knowing Father, who has always known us and had us in His mind long before the foundations of the world were laid (Ephesians 1:4). Read Jeremiah 1 and consider the incredible truth that God knew us before we were born (Jeremiah 1:5).

For me, I had to reach a point of desperation. A place where I was willing to lose everything of earthly value if that was what it took to fully experience His will for my life.

The 23rd of April is a day that will forever remain in my memory.

God knew it would arrive.

I never saw it coming.

It was a life-changing event that caused me to step out of my lifeboat and begin walking on water.

Like Peter stepping out of the boat at Jesus' command (Matthew 14:29), I was called to trust Him beyond my own understanding and beyond the safety of what was familiar.

God loves us infinitely.

But we must ensure that everything we have, everything we do, and everything that surrounds us brings glory to Him.

Everything.

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).

My prayer is that you will be encouraged to keep pressing through your own process, no matter how difficult the challenges, trials, or troubles may seem. God uses these seasons to prepare us. He shapes our character, strengthens our faith, and teaches us dependence upon Him.

Do not give up.

The process has a purpose.

One day, you too may find yourself stepping out of the boat and walking on water with Him.

And when that day comes, you will discover that He was preparing you all along.

Thank You, Jesus, for the indescribable gift You gave us through Your sacrifice, Your grace, and Your unfailing love.
